Full Service Student Account

The central student account that is automatically assigned provides basic email facilities only.

Please note: There is no charge to upgrade to a Full Service account, however network traffic is restricted. There are charges for extra traffic.

An upgrade to a "Full Service Student Account" is required if you wish to:

  • access your Student Internet Quota in those UWA areas that are "restricted", such UWA Libraries and some School computer labs (those which use the UWA Proxy).
  • register for a SNAP Account
    • for Wired or Wireless access to the network from your laptop or PDA while at UWA
    • for to access UWA resources from home (or other non-UWA connections);

To upgrade your central student account to a "full service" account, you need to understand:

  • your rights and responsibilities; and
  • the cost structures and charging arrangements.

This can be done by completing the online tutorial. An upgrade application form will be provided at the end of the tutorial. This should be completed and returned to SISO in the Reid Library (Internal Mail Bag: M463). When your upgrade application has been processed and full access becomes available, you will be notified by email to your central student account.

Some schools will pay for network traffic incurred by postgraduate or honours students who require Internet access for research purposes. Unsponsored students are liable for their own network traffic payments if any charges are incurred.
