While the University Website Office is ultimately responsible for everything published under the University's name on the World Wide Web, the individual websites that make up the University website are under the direct control of content custodians within the relevant business unit.

University Web Guidelines

The University Web Guidelines are provided to encourage the creation and maintenance of effective websites that establish a clear identity for the University on the world wide web consistent with the University's standing as a internationally recognised, research intensive University with an excellent teaching reputation.

The Web Guidelines comprise a number of requirements with which all websites on the University network must comply.

MySource Web Content Management System

In February 2002 the University Website Management Committee adopted the MySource content management system (http://mysource.squiz.net/) for use as a centralised web publishing service. MySource is an open source product running on Linux, Apache, PHP and MySQL.

The centralised web publishing facility is available to faculties, departments and sections of central administration as a web publishing tool that facilitates compliance with the University's Web Guidelines, encourages consistency of design and navigation, ease of maintenance, provides workflow tools, and many other features that will improve the quality of the University website.

Contact the Website Office Service Desk (email weboffice@uwa.edu.au or phone 6488 2320) for more information about publishing using the centralised web publishing service or visit the MySource Help pages.
