Old Phone Number Prefixes

In 2004 the University migrated the telephone prefix for phone numbers at the Crawley campus from 9380 XXXX to 6488 XXXX. Here are some easy steps to follow in order to check whether your web site includes old phone number prefixes that should be updated.

If your website is hosted in the MySource CMS

  1. Visit your website and near the top right of the screen select This Sub-site from the drop down list next to Search UWA.
  2. Click in the keywords box, removing any text that appears in this search field and enter the old prefix 9380
  3. Click Go.
  4. A list of pages including 9380, perhaps an old phone number prefix will appear.
  5. You may edit these pages individually or
  6. In the backend of the CMS click on the Wizards tab and
  7. Use the Selective Replace Bodycopy Content tool to replace a number of instances of 9380 at the same time.
  8. Please contact the ITS Service Desk for assistance.

If your website is NOT hosted in the MySource CMS

  1. Visit http://www.google.com/
  2. Type the following into the Google search field
    site:mydomain.uwa.edu.au 9380
    substituting the address of your website for mydomain.uwa.edu.au
  3. Click Google Search
  4. Google will return a list of all pages at the website you specificed that include 9380, perhaps an old phone number prefix.
  5. Update your pages by the usual method or contact the ITS Service Desk for assistance.
