My PC is not responding anymore
If your PC isn’t responding any more then your PC may have crashed, however under Windows XP this is becoming less and less common and is more likely to be just the application. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete, select Task Manager, click on the applications tab and the offending program (the program will have 'Not Responding' next to it). Then click 'End Task'. If this doesn’t fix then problem then restart the machine. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete again, and press the button marked 'Shut Down'. If it doesn’t shutdown then you will have to do it manually by holding the power button in for several seconds or until it turns off. If you are still experiencing problems, then contact your local IT support. |
