Policy
The Audio Visual Unit provides a limited support service for departmental and faculty teaching facilities but it should be noted that support in common teaching facilities will always receive priority.
If the Audio Visual Unit is required to provide equipment to non-common teaching venues, then the correct booking procedure must be adhered to and sufficient notice given. A hire fee applies for this service.
The Audio Visual Unit also provides support for UWA academic activities taking place in Winthrop Hall. University Theatres are responsible for all non-academic activities in Winthrop Hall.
Audio Visual Assistants move and set up departmental equipment, as long as the correct booking procedure is followed and sufficient notice is provided.
When relocating departmental equipment, any apparent service or repair requirements are noted and the relevant advice then given to the appropriate department. The Audio Visual Unit will only repair this equipment if staff work loads permit and the department/faculty is willing to pay the appropriate charge for parts and labour.
The Audio Visual Unit is not responsible for cleaning white boards, chalk boards or overhead projector rolls. These duties are carried out by the Cleaning staff.
